Use AI to plan your holiday travel
AI can't book the flight for you, but it can turn a messy trip into a simple plan, a packing list, and a short list of questions to ask.
Holiday travel means crowded airports, long drives, and a lot of little things to remember. An AI chat is good at the planning part: putting the steps in order, making a checklist, and helping you think about what could go wrong before it does.
Start with the basics of your trip
Tell it where you're going, how you're getting there, the dates, and who is coming. Ask for a simple day-by-day plan with the things to do before you leave.
Example: "We're driving from Chicago to my sister's in Nashville for Thanksgiving, leaving Wednesday Nov 25 and coming back Sunday. Two adults, a 7-year-old, and a dog. Make a simple plan: when to leave to miss traffic, where to stop, and what to do the night before."
A packing list that fits your trip
Ask for a packing list for the weather, the length of the trip, and the people going. Say what you always forget ("phone chargers, my pills") and ask it to put those at the top.
Questions for the airport or airline
If you're flying, ask it to explain things in plain words: what you can bring in a carry-on, what to do if a flight is cancelled, and what to ask the gate agent. Then check the airline's own website, since rules change.
Plan B for bad weather
Ask: "If a snowstorm cancels our flight or closes the road, what are my options and who should I call first?" A short backup plan written ahead of time makes a bad day a lot calmer.
Things to know
- AI can be out of date on prices, schedules, and airline rules. Always confirm on the airline, airport, or road conditions website.
- Don't paste your confirmation numbers, passport details, or home address into the chat.

Questions
Can AI book my flight or hotel?
Not on its own in a regular chat. It's best for planning, comparing, and checklists. You still book on the airline or hotel site.
Is the information about airline rules reliable?
Use it as a starting point. Rules for bags and cancellations change, so check the airline's website before you go.
Can it help with a long drive with kids?
Yes. Ask for car games, snack ideas, and good places to stop every couple of hours.
Is this free?
Yes. The free version of ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude can do everything here, and our coach is free to try.
