Ask for an Outline First

What you'll get: A quick outline to approve or change before the AI writes anything long, so the final piece says what you actually wanted.

For: Students

I need help with a [ESSAY / REPORT / SPEECH / PRESENTATION] about [TOPIC] for [WHO IT'S FOR]. It should be about [LENGTH]. Don't write it yet. First, give me a short outline: a working title, 3 to 5 main points with one line each, and how it ends. Then ask me 2 questions about anything you're unsure of. Wait for my changes before writing the full version.

💡 Saying 'don't write it yet' is the trick. Fixing a 5-line outline is much faster than fixing 5 pages.

Try it in the coach

Fill in the [BRACKETS] with your own details, then paste it into any AI chat.

Feedback on My Writing

Improve a draft you already wrote.

Here's my draft for [ASSIGNMENT]: "[PASTE YOUR DRAFT]". Give me feedback on clarity, structure, and grammar. Point out my 3 biggest areas to improve, but don't rewrite it for me.

💡 Feedback without rewrites helps you become a better writer, and keeps the work yours.

Write Down a Family Recipe

A tidy, easy-to-follow recipe card from the way you remember making a family dish.

Help me write down a family recipe so my kids and grandkids can make it. The dish is [NAME], and it came from [WHO]. Here's how I make it, in my own words: [DESCRIBE IT, e.g. 'a good handful of flour, butter the size of an egg, bake till golden']. Turn this into a clear recipe card with a short story line at the top, an ingredient list with my best guess at real measurements, and numbered steps. Mark every measurement you guessed with (about) so I can check it next time I cook.

💡 Describe it the way you'd tell a grandchild. AI is good at turning 'a pinch' and 'till it looks right' into steps others can follow.

Scholarship Essay Outline

A clear outline and an opening paragraph to rewrite in your own voice, not a full essay to paste.

Help me outline a scholarship essay. The essay prompt is: [PASTE PROMPT]. Word limit: [NUMBER]. Facts about me that fit: [3 TO 5 BULLETS]. Tone should sound like a real student, not a brochure. Give me a 4-part outline, a draft opening paragraph I can rewrite in my own words, and a checklist of what to cut if I'm over the limit. Do not invent awards or activities I did not list.

💡 Only give it real facts about you. If you leave gaps, it will invent a life you do not have.
