Use AI to write a thank-you note

AI can help you get past the blank card. You bring the one real detail, and it helps you say thanks in a few warm, natural lines.

A thank-you note doesn't need to be long. It needs to sound like you and mention the thing you're grateful for. The hard part is often the first line. An AI chat can give you a few starting points in seconds, and you pick the one that feels right.

Give it the one detail that matters

Say who the note is for, what they did, and one specific thing you liked about it. That one detail is what makes a note feel personal instead of generic.

Example: "Help me write a short thank-you note to my neighbor Ruth for the soup she brought when I was sick. Mention that it was the first thing I'd wanted to eat all week. Keep it to 3 or 4 sentences, warm and simple, like I talk."

Pick the right length and tone

A card for a gift can be three sentences. A note after a job interview can be a short email that's a little more formal. Tell AI which one you need and ask for two versions so you can choose.

Make it sound like you

Read it out loud. If a word isn't one you'd use, ask AI to make it plainer or change it yourself. Add your own sign-off, like "Love, Grandma" or "Thanks again."

Questions

Is it okay to use AI for a thank-you note?

Yes, as long as the thanks and the details are real. Think of AI as help with the wording, not the feeling.

How long should a thank-you note be?

Three to five sentences is plenty for most cards. Say thanks, name the thing, say why it mattered, and sign off.

How soon should I send a thank-you after a job interview?

Within a day is a good rule. AI can help you write a short, polite email that mentions something from the conversation.

Is this free?
